'Coming out' - if you tell a professional about your sexuality or gender preference they should not tell anyone else without your agreement beforehand. If a friend 'comes out' to you, respect their privacy, support them it must have taken courage to tell you.

Homophobia is common - many people experience homophobic bullying at some point. This is not acceptable and can make people feel very isolated and depressed.
