Gonorrhoea
Caused by a bacteria, so can be cured with antibiotics.
You can get it again and again and again, just because you've had it once does not mean you're immune.
Men are more likely to have symptoms than women.
Symptoms, if any, include:
- A discharge often yellow/green in colour.
- Pain when you pee.
- Men may suffer from inflamed testicles.
Passed on through vaginal, anal and oral sex.
Very easy to test for. (See Sexual Health Services.)
Test involves:
- Women: a swab you take yourself.
- Men: a sample of urine.
If left untreated it can lead to infertility in both men and women and other serious complications.
Prevention... Use Condoms!!
